Eliza Carthy
Eliza CarthyEliza Carthy is winner of 2 Mercury Prize nominations and innumerable other accolades over a 15 year career Eliza has performed and recorded with a diverse array of artists from Paul Weller to The Wainwrights, Nick Cave to Joan Baez.

'Dreams of Breathing Underwater' is Eliza's latest album. Due for release via Topic Records in June and currently being mixed by producer Ben Ivitsky in Edinburgh, it not only showcases a truly inventive and innovative singer and fiddle-player, but also reveals Eliza as a gifted musical conceptualist.

Powerful, vital and exuberant rhythms, absorbed from her travels around the globe, characterise this highly original, self-penned album. Percussion, bass, brass and a chamber orchestra weave a rich tapestry against which to display her incomparable voice. A range of accomplished performers and fellow musicians, including Eddi Reader, Ed Harcourt and Toby Shippey (Salsa Celtica), provide an excellent supporting cast.

Fearless, colourful and maverick in the best tradition of English songwriters, 'Dreams of Breathing Underwater' puts Carthy's many considerable and varied skills into service and confirms her position as, arguably, the most impressive and engaging performer of a generation.

"The fiddle player from Scarborough was born with performance in her DNA" The Independant

"... a wonderful artist who refuses to stand still" The Sun

The Bevvy Sisters
The Bevvy SistersThe Bevvy Sisters, sometimes sighted fronting Edinburgh’s semi-mythical LoveBoat Big Band – recently featured on Eliza Carthy’s acclaimed Dreams of Breathing Underwater album – unite the richly seasoned voices of Heather Macleod, Kaela Rowan and Lindsey Black, in a headily harmonised cocktail of jazz, Americana, folk and newly-written material. They’re accompanied by David Donnelly on guitar and mandolin and James Mackintosh (Shooglenifty) on percussion.
"The Bevvy Sisters - Luscious, lovely, tuneful - able to mix the best dirty martini around, and then sing about it" Eliza Carthy
